Scheduling & Pricing

School tours are currently offered Monday through Thursday from 9:30AM to 1:00PM.

Groups of 30 to 60 students may book a school tour on our website (using the button below).

If your group has fewer than 30 students, then please email education@chumashmuseum.org to schedule a tour.​

School tours cost $10/student.

Admission for teachers and chaperones is free up to a 1:10 ratio (not including aides).

Admission for extra chaperones is $10 each.

Policies
What to Bring
-
School tours include a guided hike, so be sure to check the weather forecast beforehand and dress accordingly. Wear appropriate footwear, such as sneakers or hiking boots, and remember sun protection, such as sunscreen and a hat.

Bringing water bottles is highly recommended. However, a drinking fountain is available inside the museum next to the restrooms.

If your group is staying for lunch, please keep all food and drinks in sealed containers. Food and drinks are NOT allowed in the museum galleries and will be left in a designated area. Water bottles, nursing, and bottle feeding are fine.

Food and drinks ARE allowed in outdoor areas. Please dispose of all your trash before leaving the museum.

One chaperone is required for every 10 students. Chaperones must stay with their students throughout their visit.

Walking and talking are appropriate, but running and shouting are not.

Please do NOT touch any artifacts and replicas in the galleries, unless allowed by a museum staff member.

Stay on the trail and don't disturb the wildlife. Leave rocks, vegetation, and artifacts where you find them.

Respectful behavior is expected to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all. Inadequate supervision and disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated and may get your group banned from future tours.
